There’s nothing quite like sailing through the air on a zipline, taking in the scenery around you as you feel the wind hitting your face. It’s a unique experience that can turn an ordinary day into an unforgettable adventure. Are you ready for this awesome experience?
Nebraska's very first zipline tour opened in 2018 at Camp Crossed Arrows, a Girl Scouts camp in Nickerson, about an hour outside of Omaha. Soaring Hawk Zip Line is a guided, multi-course tour with five different stations. Despite being located on a Girl Scouts camp, the tour is open to the public.
Each part of the five-segment run is a different height and length, and each offers unique views. You'll be strapped into a harness before you set off on this thrilling adventure through some of Nebraska's loveliest settings.
The tour covers about 1,950 feet of zip lines. There's a bit of walking between each station, and all together the course stretches out over 3,950 feet. You should plan to spend between 2 and 3 hours on the journey.
During the trip you'll fly over serene prairies, through beautiful woods, and over a deep ravine. You'll reach speeds of up to 30 MPH. But don't be tempted to squeeze your eyes shut when you start going fast - you'll want to see these beautiful views! It's a heart-pumping adventure like no other.
This is one of those awesome experiences that you'll want to repeat over and over. It's the perfect pairing of fun activity and relaxed sightseeing, and just about everyone in the family can join in.
Address: 12997 County Road P1, Nickerson, NE, 68044.
