Small towns in Nebraska have gotten a bad reputation for being boring or lacking all of the amenities that residents need. If there’s one town that disproves all of that, it’s St. Paul. Located in Howard County, this itty-bitty city is packed with things to do and see, and the folks you’ll meet there are some of the friendliest in the state.
Welcome to St. Paul, a little town with a whole lot of personality.
The small city was established in 1871 and incorporated in 1881. It grew into a solid Howard County trade center that was home to several factories and flour mills.
One of the town's most notable natives was Grover Cleveland Alexander. He was born nearby and retired in St. Paul after a very successful baseball career.
Today, St. Paul's Museum of Nebraska Major League Baseball honors Alexander and other Nebraskans who made their mark in the nation's pastime.
