It’s the perfect time to get out for a camping trip with the family, and Nebraska isn’t short on great campsites. If you’re not quite ready to go hunt down a secluded primitive camping spot, this family-owned Kampgrounds of America site might be just what you need.
Grand Island KOA Journey - located just south of Grand Island in Doniphan - is a family-friendly campground that offers a wide variety of activities and experiences.
The rustic one-room camping cabins have no bathrooms, but are located near the campsite's public restrooms. They come with electricity and enough beds for 4-5 campers.
For a more unusual camping experience, rent the Salem travel trailer or Laredo trailer. If you've been considering buying an RV or camper but don't know if you'd like sleeping in one, this is the perfect way to test it out.
Of course, if you've already got your own rig, the campground will happily accommodate you. The pull-through sites are extra long and even feature free cable TV hookups so you can have (almost) all of the comforts of home.
Play a game of horseshoes, shoot some hoops, or, if the weather is poor, head indoors to the game room. This is less like a traditional campground and more like an open-air resort where guests are encouraged to mingle and share their fun times.
When you're tired and hungry from a day of running (or biking) around, you can even order a pizza or other hot foods from the convenience store to be delivered right to your campsite!
