If you thought you knew what to expect from locally-owned Nebraska restaurants, think again. There’s one spot in the Panhandle that serves delicious, elevated cuisine in a comfortable, small-town atmosphere. It’s unlike any other restaurant in Nebraska, and it’s a must-visit for foodies – and every other hungry person.
The Mixing Bowl has been bringing elevated down-home cuisine to the good people of Gering since 2013.
The eatery was born from Chef Jamie's passion for food. After studying culinary arts in Denver, she moved back to Gering to open this restaurant that was inspired by Midwest German cuisine.
Eating here is a pleasant experience that exists at the crossroads of comfortable surroundings and gourmet cuisine.
The food may be the focus here, but the coffee and tea drinks are just as noteworthy. Besides a handful of signature drinks, there are rotating specials and unique creations like ginger spice chai.
While the classics are definitely well-represented here, there are plenty of twists on familiar dishes. The fresh ingredients add a level of highbrow tastiness that you may not expect in a small city like Gering.
If you've got a special event coming up, Chef Jamie would be happy to whip up an impressive spread for your guests.
Address: 1945 10th Street, Gering, NE 69341
The Mixing Bowl is open for breakfast and lunch as well as weekend brunch. Find out more about the rotating menu, hours, and more on the restaurant’s website or Facebook page.
