There are so many beautiful spots in Nebraska that we could fill pages and pages talking about them – and we have! Some places still aren’t as well known as others, and this one, Andzen Acres, certainly deserves some extra attention.
This little gem is located about halfway between Palmyra and Douglas, and it's surrounded by a handful of other little towns, but it's so beautiful and peaceful that it may as well be in the middle of nowhere.

Andzen Acres is a private park with more than 60 acres of land. It's a perfect place for company retreats, family gatherings, and weddings.
However, the camping and nature-watching are probably the biggest pulls for this exceptionally beautiful place. Campfires are allowed and potable water and toilets are available. You can even bring your pup along, provided you keep him on a leash.
Despite its proximity to Lincoln (15 minutes away) and Omaha (45 minutes away) being out here feels like being immersed deep in nature. The sights and sounds are incredibly relaxing - you won't believe how many birds and other wildlife you'll hear and see.
Andzen Acres features a wide variety of ecosystems, including grassland, a cedar forest, marine areas and wetlands. You can enjoy all of these during a relaxing stay at this surprisingly undeveloped little slice of paradise.
Take a walk, bike ride, horseback ride, or (with prior approval) ATV ride along the trails to see some interesting sights. There's a teepee, a natural fort, a lake and creeks, and even a little "Grand Canyon." Fishing, boating, and kayaking or canoeing are all perfect ways to experience this unique area.
The campground is open year-round, so you can even have the unique pleasure of gathering around a campfire to keep warm in cold winter weather. The land is lovely covered in a sheet of frost or a blanket of snow. Best of all, there are no bugs to contend with in the colder months!
Andzen Acres is a relatively new campground, but they are consistently working to improve the experience without spoiling the area's natural beauty. Camping is $50/night and only tents are allowed. There are 40 sites spread throughout the property, so even at full capacity you're unlikely to be bothered by too many other campers.
The sunsets alone are worth the camping fee, and the dark night skies are perfect for stargazing. To learn more about Andzen Acres, check out their Facebook page. To book a stay at this lovely natural area, click here.
