The civilized afternoon tea has become something of a lost art, particularly in middle America. While Nebraska women in the 1800s enjoyed taking time out of their day to catch up with friends over delicate snacks and cups of tea, today we all seem a bit too busy for this calm ritual. In fact, just in the past few years the majority of Nebraska’s modern tea rooms have closed down permanently.
