Out in rural Nebraska where you can drive for miles without seeing a town, coming across a great restaurant is always a pleasant surprise. Next time you’re out near Niobrara in Knox County, take a little detour to try out this simply delightful country restaurant.
The tiny village of Niobrara has a population of just 370. It's located right at that little corner of Nebraska where the Missouri and Niobrara Rivers meet.
The family-owned business focuses on fresh and local ingredients. The family sources everything they can from farms and suppliers in the immediate area. It's a true "farm to fork" experience.
That freshness is evident in every bite. If you've never enjoyed the delicacy that is farm-fresh eggs, you'll be amazed at how much better they taste than the ones you find in the supermarket.
Come by for breakfast or lunch during the week, or stop in on Saturday night for the buffet. It's a great value, and it's a good way to sample lots of the Country Cafe's most delicious dishes.
One thing to keep in mind before you visit is that the Country Cafe only accepts cash. Stop by an ATM before you go - and be sure to get enough cash to buy dessert after your meal. Even if you have to take it home with you, you don't want to miss out on these delectable treats.
You can look forward to a charming setting, fresh food, and friendly service when you make the drive to the Country Cafe. The little restaurant is open Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday 6 a.m.-2 p.m., and Friday-Sunday 6 a.m.-8 p.m. Find it at 89141 Highway 14, Niobrara, NE 68760. Get more info on the restaurant’s website or Facebook page.
