Few foods can compare to warm, freshly-baked bread. The smell of it coming out of the oven, the melty-smooth taste as it hits your mouth, it all makes for a magical experience. Even the most ardent of carbohydrate-avoiders has to admit that fresh bread is pretty delicious. If you find yourself looking for bakeries in Nebraska that specialize in bread, don’t fret. We’ve actually got one of the best bread suppliers in the country right here in La Vista, Nebraska.
Rotella's Italian Bakery got its start in Italy way back in 1850. The bakery was started by Domenico Rotella. His son emigrated to Nebraska in 1909. When unable to find work in the railroad industry, he followed in his father's footsteps and rented a bakery.
The bakery has found much success over the years, exceeding all expectations when it moved to a larger-scale facility in the 1960s. It is still owned by the Rotella family today.
Rotella's products are available all over the Midwest in grocery stores and restaurants. But, of course, nothing compares to getting it straight from the factory!
The factory in La Vista has a retail shop attached so you are getting the freshest bread possible. Prices are low, but quality is high, and they've got just about every variety you can think of.
Amazingly, Rotella's produces hundreds of different bread types. While Italian bakeries are typically known for producing foccacia and ciabatta, Rotella's throws in all kinds into the mix.
You can even purchase keto bread and gluten-free bread here!
