Head to Republican City for this terrific hiking opportunity. As the home of the Harlan County Reservoir, Republican City is full of amazing outdoor recreational activities.
One of them is North Outlet Park. This lovely wooded park is located right up against the Republican River and offers some terrific opportunities to explore nature and enjoy Nebraska's lovely scenery.
Because of the abundant vegetation, it’s important to remember to bring bug spray to repel ticks. It’s a good idea to wear long pants and sleeves if possible.
This is certainly not your ordinary stroll through the park; it's a beautiful journey through some of the area's prettiest landscapes. Even though you're in a populated area, the trail feels quite remote and peaceful.
Because this is a dirt trail with uneven terrain, it is not wheelchair or stroller-accessible. To get to River’s Edge Nature Trail, head to North Outlet Park in the Harlan County town of Republican City.
