Twenty-five minutes from downtown Lincoln, Nebraska, there’s a restaurant on a 40-acre farm. And not only does it feel remote, it also has great food and views!
Prairie Plate Restaurant opened in 2014 a little northwest of Waverly, Nebraska when Lakehouse Farm owners Renee and Jerry Cornett decided to take a step beyond the popular "farm-to-table" concept.
They decided the perfect world would be a "farm-to-our-kitchen-to-table" approach. Things were set in motion and soon afterward they had their new restaurant up and running in this building by the lake.
Owner/Prairie Plate Restaurant
This trendy, seasonal eatery is open from April through New Year's Eve.
Lakehouse Farm, a Certified Organic Farm and sister to Prairie Plate Restaurant, grows all the veggies used in the savory dishes at Prairie Plate.
The menu changes often to accommodate the daily harvest.
Entrees such as Bison Meatloaf, Grass Fed Beef Involtini and Stuffed Sweet Red Peppers are typical of the delicious fresh fare you'll find here.
Perched on the edge of the farm's lake, the restaurant always has great views while you eat!
You'll enjoy this cozy, farm-to-table eatery in what feels like a very remote spot in Nebraska.
