How many times have you been driving down a rural Nebraska road and spotted one of those perfect little country churches off in the distance? They always look so peaceful and beautiful, like they were always meant to be there. This little shrine is a beautiful example.
Just outside of Crete sits one of the prettiest little religious buildings you've ever seen. The Cor Mariae Schoenstatt Shrine is a welcome little beam of light on the horizon.
The building was designed as an exact replica of the Schoenstatt order's chapel in Schoenstatt, Germany. There are 10 such replicas in the U.S. and more around the world.
...and you'll be greeted by the friendly faces of the sisters and other church community members. Stop by to take pictures of the building or come for mass; either way, this is a piece of unusual architecture you won't want to miss.
The Cor Mariae Schoenstatt Shrine is located at 340 State Hwy 103, Crete, Nebraska. Visit the center’s website or Facebook page if you’d like to learn more.
