Camping is one of the best parts of summer in Nebraska, and we have plenty of places to enjoy sleeping under the stars. There are many, many campgrounds to choose from in every part of the state. Everyone has their own preferences and criteria for what makes a terrific campground, but Ponca State Park in northeastern Nebraska is often called the most beautiful in the state.
Ponca is one of Nebraska's most popular state parks, and with good reason.

It's located right on the Missouri River in the midst of breathtaking forested bluffs.
From the house-like "mini lodges" to more traditional cabins to beautiful RV sites to 43 primitive sites, there's the perfect lodging choice for everyone.
The park doesn't leave anyone behind when it comes to activities. Enjoy boating, river fishing, swimming, horseback rides (Memorial Day through Labor Day), birdwatching, use of a shooting/archery range, golfing...
...22 miles of hike/bike trails that range from easy to challenging, educational programs, hayrack tours, playgrounds, kayaking, ice fishing.... We could go on and on, but you get the idea.
And that's not even including all of the nearby attractions including the popular Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center. Nissen Winery is nearby, so you can stop by for a bottle before retiring to your cabin or campsite for the evening.
