There’s just something about warmer weather that starts us thinking about love and marriage. Maybe it’s because you have six weddings to attend in the next three months, or maybe it’s just that being outside in the sunshine makes you feel especially romantic. If you’re thinking of taking that leap and asking one of the most important questions of your life, you’d better make sure the scenery is perfect. These are some of the most fantastic spots in Nebraska to pop the question.
So Nebraska's highest point isn't the most dramatic spot. It's still significant, especially when you walk up to the marker and tell your soon-to-be betrothed that their love has lifted you higher than you've ever been lifted before (Jackie Wilson song playing in the background is optional, but recommended).
Picture it: you're sitting on the patio at your favorite vineyard (Soaring Wings Winery is pictured) with your favorite person, sipping on some delicious wine and talking about your future. It's the perfect setting for a proposal.
We have so many of them, and they're all terrific. If you two have a favorite (Victoria Falls SRA is pictured), head there for a romantic picnic lunch. At the end, go ahead and ask the question you've been wanting to ask for a while now.
Hike or climb up to the top of one of the many stunning rock formations in western Nebraska, then show your sweetheart that your love is rock solid by proposing right then and there.
There's nothing like a Nebraska sunset to make you feel warm and fuzzy and romantic. Seize that moment to ask for her/his hand in marriage and capture that sunset for all time.
This place may not seem romantic to everyone, but trust us - once you're out there staring in wonder at the insane rock formations all around you, you'll feel the magic of the place.
This botanical garden in Omaha is such a romantic place; it only makes sense to get engaged here. Wouldn't this picture be even more perfect if the two of you were on that bench holding hands and glowing with love?
Valentine plays up the "heart city" theme with hearts all over the place. Get your sweetie in front of one and prepare to ask that important question...and if you can have a friend take a picture of that moment, even better.
Ok, this one is a little cliché and maybe a bit silly...but when you're looking down at the earth and ti's just you and the person you love (and the balloon operator, but try to ignore him), it will feel right. Just make sure your intended spouse isn't afraid of heights first.
You're taking a nice stroll with your one and only along the river and decide to walk along the tall bridge. Stop in the middle to propose and you can tell people that you got engaged in two states at once.
The next time the two of you go out to catch a Stormchasers game, arrange to have the question appear on the big screen - or better yet, get your significant other down on the field for an epic public proposal (but only if you're really, really sure the answer will be yes!).
In the end, wherever you get engaged is going to be special because it’s all about the two of you and spending your lives together.
Did you get engaged at any of these places? Tell us all about it in the comments!
