Nebraska is one of those states that people just love to bash. We seem like an easy target because the people are nice and out-of-staters seem to think that it’s boring here. They can go ahead and hate Nebraska, because the things they don’t like about our home happen to be some of our favorite parts of living here.
Well, this isn't totally true, but we definitely do have way more small towns than cities. And every one of them has its very own personality. Exploring them is so much fun, and you get to meet some pretty interesting people along the way.
Again, not totally true, but it's fair to say that farm and ranch land takes up a significant portion of the state. We feed America, and we're darn proud of that.
If by "nothing to do" you mean the state isn't full of nightclubs and theme parks, you got us there. But we prefer different types of entertainment. We like to spend time outside, enjoy nature, and visit historical attractions, to name just a few.
What's not to love about this? We don't have to worry about feeling claustrophobic when we can just take a drive and enjoy all of this beautiful open country.
Nebraska is one of the less populous states, and that suits us just fine. It means that we know our neighbors and traffic (in most parts of the state) is never a concern. And as an added bonus, those of us who do live here are reported to be among the happiest people in the nation. Go Nebraska!
This one actually can be a little disconcerting to people who don't plan ahead and run out of gas on long stretches of empty highway. But those long distances give us the perfect opportunity to listen to music or have great conversations with the other people in the car.
You're bound to hear some trains and bullfrogs, and a whole lot of cicadas in the summer, but for the most part there's nothing but peace and quiet here. We certainly wouldn't trade it for blaring car horns and throngs of people.

9. Cell phone service just doesn't exist in some places.
Ha ha, we tricked you there, out-of-staters! So many people think that all there is to Nebraska is what they see from I-80. Though there are plenty of us who welcome the tourist dollars that people spend in our state when they visit our beautiful attractions, there are also many Nebraskans who would prefer for people to just keep on driving.
People who hate the Huskers are clearly just jealous.
