It’s not every day that you find a truly upscale dining experience in the Sandhills of Nebraska, but The Cedar Room in North Platte is a rare gem. This restored building with gorgeous Art Deco-style details is home to a dining experience that will make you feel like you’ve been transported to the past.
The Cedar Room opened in downtown North Platte in 2020. It's located in a building that dates all the way back to 1885. It's been carefully restored inside and out to bring it back to its original beauty.
Hardwood floors and classic tin ceiling tiles lend a wonderfully historic feel, while trendy sliding barn-style doors, lush lighting, and a classy cocktail lounge add a modern vibe.
Even if you're not hungry, stop in for a drink. The cozy cocktail lounge serves all of your old favorites along with some less-familiar drinks that you're sure to love.
And did we mention the food? The menu is, of course, one of the most important aspects of any restaurant, and The Cedar Room's fare does not disappoint.
Beef, beef, and more beef is the foundation of this restaurant's menu, and we're all for it. From glazed steak medallions to a perfectly tender filet mignon, there's really no wrong answer here.
There are plenty of non-beef options as well. How does duroc pork with salted caramel or mustard cream sauce sound? Or perhaps an ahi tuna steak salad? If you really want to indulge, add a lobster tail or some shrimp to your meal.
Dessert is an experience in and of itself. This caramel apple crumble topped with salted caramel ice cream looks absolutely heavenly, but the creme brulee is a fan-favorite that everyone should get to try at least once.
The Cedar Room is open for lunch and dinner. Weekly lunch specials will keep you coming back again and again on your lunch break – and then you’ll want to come back for dinner, too. Check out this upscale dining experience on its website or Facebook page.
