Located in Sarpy County, Gretna, Nebraska, is a charming small town that I love recommending to visitors. Just a short drive from Omaha, this town of approximately 5,000 residents has a plethora of attractions, charming shops, and delicious places to eat. But, now, it is also home to one of the newest parks in Nebraska – Gretna Crossing Park.
This city park, which is sponsored by United Republic Bank, officially opened in September 2023 and has been in the works for approximately three years.
The new park has caused quite a bit of excitement in the community. It is the first new park in Gretna in more than 50 years and it has something for every member of the family.

Gretna Crossing Park is approximately 157 acres and is built around fitness, health, and recreation. While there is plenty of green space for relaxing, playing, and admiring the views, there is also a playground, and soccer and baseball fields.
You can always bring your favorite furry friend and let him run to his heart’s content in the dog park as well.
Live music, plays, and other events can easily be held at the park's ampitheater. This is just one more way this new city park is bringing the entire community together.
Whether you come to spend some time outside or for a whole day of activities, Gretna Crossing Park is one place you’ll love. We recommend you visit before word gets out!
