The Fourth of July happens to fall on a weekend this year, which makes celebrating the holiday super convenient. And what says “4th of July” more than fireworks displays? Although we can’t possibly name off every fireworks display in every little town in Nebraska, here are 24 of them that you can enjoy with family and friends.
A full day of festivities will be followed by a fireworks display over the west end of Harlan County Lake.
The Chamber of Commerce-sponsored event includes a huge variety of family activities all day on July 4th. The day is capped off with a spectacular fireworks display at dusk at Old Mill Park.

Brownville's Freedom Day celebration includes a 5K, 10K and half-marathon, a parade, trolley rides, and much more. Fireworks over the Missouri River start at 9:30.

A Freedom Run, parade, car show, horseshoes tournament, and plenty of other fun activities will take place all day on July 4th. Fireworks in the evening will follow the day of fun.
Oshkosh, Lewellen, and Lisco will band together to put on a watermelon feed and fireworks show for the entire community.
The Patriotism Celebration event starts on July 3rd with sports, game, food, dancing, a fun run, free swimming, and a whole mess of activities that go all the way through the 4th. Fireworks and music start after dark at the fairgrounds.
One of the most dazzling fireworks displays in Nebraska is at the Scotts Bluff National Monument. Walk or take a shuttle to the top of the monument where the show will start at 8:30 pm on the 4th.

A day of delightful fun starts off with the Pony Express Rodeo and ends with a barbecue and fireworks display - all at the Rodeo Arena at 27th & Lake Ave.
Kearney's memorable Fireworks Extravaganza will be held on July 3rd at the Viaero Event Center from 6 pm to 11 pm. Prior to the show, families are invited to tailgate in the parking lot.
Come out to Lexington's Memorial Park on the 4th at 1 pm for an afternoon of games, activities and entertainment. The fireworks show starts at dusk.
Lincoln's annual Uncle Sam Jam will be held Friday, July 3rd at Oak Lake Park. A day of mind-blowing fun and music starts at 1 pm, and the fireworks begin at 10 pm.

Nebraska City's Independence Day Celebration begins on the 2nd and goes all the way through the 5th. The Red, White and Boom! Carnival runs Thursday-Saturday evenings at Steinhart Park north of Clemmy Holmes Field. Fireworks start at dusk on the 4th.

Bing Bang BOOM! takes place at Norfolk's Skyview Lake. Food, drink, an inflatable midway, and a challenge race all precede the fireworks show which is now in its 40th year.
North Platte's fireworks display is sponsored by the Optimists Club and takes place on the 4th at dusk at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds.
The largest fireworks display in Western Nebraska will be on July 4th, 9:30 pm, at the Western Diamonds ball field.

Omaha has quite a few fireworks displays, but one of the most impressive is the one held at TD Ameritrade Park on Thursday, July 3rd. The fireworks show will go on following the TD Ameritrade College Home Run Derby, which begins at 7:30 pm.
The Oshkosh Ballpark hosts the annual 4th of July fireworks show. On the 3rd, come out for an evening street dance on Main Street. Then wake up on the 4th for a parade, lunch at the park, pie and ice cream social, and several other family-friendly events. Fireworks start when it gets dark.
Ralston's massive Independence Day celebration starts early in the morning on the 4th with a huge variety of activities for the entire family. Following the city-wide parade and festival, the fireworks display starts at 9:30 pm.
Seward's "4th of July Small Town U.S.A." is a beloved tradition going all the way back to 1868. The old-fashioned festival includes concerts, crafts, sports, games, and, of course, a memorable fireworks display at the end.
The Cherry County Fairgrounds is the place to be in Valentine on the 4th. Starting with a parade at 11 am and ending with fireworks at dusk, Valentine is a fun place to spend this holiday.

Wahoo's small-town Old-Fashioned Fourth of July will include a ton of kids' activities starting at 11 am. Smith Park will host an 1860s style baseball game at 7:30 which will be followed by a fireworks show at 10 pm in Hackberry Park.
