The tiny town of Elmwood might be the last place you would expect to find a world-class collection of haunted objects. But the newly-opened Museum of Shadows has brought the paranormal right to small-town Nebraska, and it’s one of the most fascinating places you’ll ever visit.
The new Museum of Shadows is dedicated to all of the things that exist in the shadows...cursed items, haunted objects, and paranormal artifacts of all descriptions.
It is the only museum of its kind in the Midwest, and it's packed with hundreds of odd, fascinating, and sometimes downright scary objects. New objects are being added daily.
The pieces have come from all over the world; many of them have dark pasts. Some seem to have lives of their own, as if a life force lurks within them.
The building itself has a very long history stretching all the way back to 1890. Paranormal activity is experienced regularly by people who visit the building. Lights turn on by themselves, disembodied voices are heard, and some people even report being touched by someone who isn't there.
But the museum isn't all about scariness; it's about learning something new that you may have otherwise never known. Step inside and learn more about haunted items, read case files, and talk with the owners about their own experiences with the paranormal.
And they do have plenty of experience. Nate and Kaleigh are paranormal experts who regularly investigate hauntings and other paranormal happenings. Nate founded TRIP Paranormal in 2006 and has since been helping people understand unexplained activity in their homes and businesses.
The couple's work has appeared on many TV shows, and they are currently working on their own TV series. It promises to be as hauntingly fascinating as the objects on display in the museum.
The Museum of Shadows is located at 116 N 4th St, Elmwood, Nebraska. It is open Wednesday through Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm. Learn more at their website or on their Facebook page.
