Tori Jane is a storm chaser, writer, photographer, and the village idiot - in that order. When she's not out and about dancing with the meanest storms on planet Earth for funsies she can be found wandering, shooting landscapes, writing, editing photos, and otherwise up to no good. Legend has it that she can also be occasionally spotted typing up short bios in the third person, but those rumors are unsubstantiated.
Fun fact: Chadron State Park is Nebraska’s first and oldest state park, and on June 10th, 2024, it’ll be celebrating a very special 103rd birthday. For just over a century now, this amazing state park has reflected all the wild beauty that Nebraska is capable of – wild beauty that all too many people simply don’t give it an ounce of credit for. While some might accuse Nebraska of being “flat,” these folks clearly haven’t a clue that a place like Chadron State Park even exists.
This stunning state park is wonderful day or night – overhead, you can expect an enormous number of stars. If you’re a lover of equestrian shenanigans, from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day, you can attend a trail ride at the park. You just never know – there’s always something going on.
Happy birthday, Chadron! More than 100 years of amazingness is nothing to shake a stick at. Visit the official Outdoor Nebraska website for more info. Want to amp your hiking game up to 11? Check out AllTrails Plus.
