If you’ve ever wanted to sail the high seas, get to know some scoundrels, and practice your swordplay skills, you’ll want to clear your calendar on August 28th and 29th, 2021. That’s when the Midwest Pirate Fest is returning to Bellevue Berry Farm in Nebraska, and it promises to be a swashbuckling good time!
Come on down to Bellevue Berry Patch in late August for a festival that will have you talking (and maybe even dancing) like a pirate.
Midwest Pirate Fest is the largest of its kind in Nebraska. It's a celebration of seafaring folklore and includes music, food, and endless opportunities for talking like a pirate.
The festival was canceled in 2020 but is back and better than ever in 2021. Landlubbers and pirates alike will love the lineup of entertainment and activities - not to mention the costumes!
What can you expect to find at a pirate festival? Fun for the whole family, of course! Pirates of old may have been rough and gruff, but you'll only see friendly faces here.
This year's festival will feature a thrilling bird show from Raptor's Keep, performances by musicians and other entertainers, and even a bit of education about pirate history and lore. There are five stages with continuous entertainment to keep you merry all day long.
There's also a wide selection of products on offer from merchants, including costumes, pirate gear, handmade pottery, replica weapons, tarot readings, and much more. And don't forget to get some of the delicious food and beverages to keep you fueled up. We recommend the handcrafted root beer - it's a pirate's second-favorite type of beer!
Be sure not to miss the Grand Parade on both days. That's when you'll get to see the colorfully costumed cast march through the festival grounds to the abandoned pirate ship. Once there, they'll reveal a clue to help you in the daily treasure hunt. That's right - there's real pirate treasure to be discovered!
Other special events will round out the experience, including a rum tasting and pirate initiations. There will be free activities throughout the grounds, and your leashed dogs are welcome to join you. There's never a dull moment at this swashbuckling adventure!
For sound-sensitive individuals, please note that there are multiple cannon shots heard throughout the day.
The 2021 Midwest Pirate Fest is taking place on August 28th and 29th at Bellevue Berry Farm in Papillion. The festivities stretch from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both days. Tickets are just $10 for adults and $7 for kids. Buy your tickets here, and visit the Midwest Pirate Fest’s website or Facebook page for more information.
