The little town of Malcolm has fewer than 400 residents. It got its start way back in 1877, and it’s still a quiet, peaceful place today. The little town is home to a restaurant that has old-fashioned methods that not only take you back to simpler times…they create some of the best BBQ ever.
Welcome to Lippy's BBQ! This family-owned restaurant serves up some of the best BBQ in the state, and you're definitely going to want to pay it a visit.
From the moment you step in the door, the mouthwatering aromas of BBQ will surround you. If you weren't already starving when you arrived, the smell of these ribs cooking will make you ravenous.
The walls in the dining room pay homage to some of the blues greats throughout history. You'll want to spend a little time checking out the vintage concert posters and guitars while you wait for your meal.
The folks here do everything the old-fashioned way. They treat customers like family, and slow-smoke their BBQ over a wood-burning fire. The result is delicious food in a friendly place, and you'll be back again and again.
All the meats on the menu are to die for, but the ribs really are the star of the show here. They're served "naked," which lets that amazing wood-fired taste shine through.
If you're really hungry, get a combo with three or four meats. Sink your teeth into ribs, pulled pork, brisket, and chicken breast. Make sure you get there early, though. Lippy's smokes all its BBQ fresh every day, but once it's gone, you'll have to wait til tomorrow for more.
