Lavender is known as a fussy plant that’s difficult to grow outside of the perfect climate. Nebraska, of course, has anything but the “perfect” climate. But there are a couple of wonderful lavender farms making it work after a process of trial and error. Peace, Love and Lavender, just outside of Elwood, has been growing lavender since 2013, and the owners have turned their hobby into a lucrative full-time business.
The farm is open to the public on weekends beginning Memorial Day through Labor Day, with several special events taking place throughout the summer. You can also make an appointment to come out any other time. There are tons of things to do and experience at this unique destination, so don’t miss out on this unforgettable summertime experience. Get more information and follow along with special events on the farm’s Facebook page. You can also buy some of the farm’s products on its website.
