Gretna, lying between Lincoln and Omaha, is a little town of just over 4,000 people. But on any given day, you’ll find hundreds more visiting the attraction Gretna is known for: Nebraska Crossing, a massive outdoor shopping center. It’s the biggest outdoor mall in Nebraska, and it will take a whole day to explore it all.
Nebraska Crossing, formerly known as the Gretna Outlet Mall, is described on its website as a "premier outdoor shopping destination."
It's kind of like a little village square, complete with retailers and restaurants, where you can spend a relaxing day strolling and shopping. There are even several green spaces and a soccer field, details that help the shopping center feel more like a community gathering place.
The old outlet mall was destroyed and the new shopping center was built in 2013. Its configuration is more walkable now, and it's more of a destination than a place you go to pick up just a couple of things.
There are more than 80 stores and restaurants at Nebraska Crossing. You can shop at big-name stores like Fossil, Bath & Body Works, and Coach. When you get hungry, you can find everything from steaks to smoothies and chocolates to big, soft pretzels.
Whether you're looking for a designer outfit or an unbelievable deal, you're bound to find it at Nebraska Crossing. Just be sure to wear your walking shoes - it takes a while to explore a place this big!
Find out more about Nebraska Crossing, including a complete list of retail stores and restaurants, on the shopping center’s website. What’s your favorite store at this beloved outlet mall? Tell us about it in the comments!
When you’re on your way to or from Gretna, you might notice a mystical-looking building up on a hill. Here’s its story.
