While we all love a good fast food burger, sitting down for a fancy meal in elegant surroundings is just what we need now and then. This gorgeous restaurant in Lincoln sits in a historic old house named for one of Nebraska’s most famous lawmakers.
Billy's Restaurant is named for William Jennings Bryan, a famed Nebraska politician who ran for president three times.
Since the restaurant is in a house, it consists of many rooms, giving it a very homey feel. The rooms are named after politicians like Bryan, Charles Dawes and George W. Norris, and the bar bears the name Chautauqua.
Billy's has been open since 1986, making it one of Lincoln's longest-running restaurants. Chef and owner Nader Farahbod is well known in Lincoln for his thoughtful and elegant menus.
The food here is sincerely some of the best in Lincoln. The rack of lamb is delicately and perfectly seasoned, and so tender that it almost melts in your mouth.
You'll find old favorites on the menu like Billy's famous Reuben and a delectable ribeye, but you'll also find some surprisingly inventive dishes that you'll be talking about long after the meal is over.
And don't even think of leaving without dessert! The carefully prepared treats are always delicious. This cheesecake looks positively amazing, and their rich chocolate cake is what dreams are made of.
Billy's is also the perfect place for a meeting or special event. It's kind of like going to a family member's house for dinner... but you won't have to help out with the dishes when you're done.
