Heron Haven Nature Center is a spring-fed wetland sanctuary within the city limits. It features one of the last Oxbox Wetlands of the Big Papillion Creek.

This is a special and amazing place to explore with the whole family. It’s a flat area, with beautiful views, and lots of space to walk around.

It follows the boardwalk from the center to the lake. It’s a flat, out-and-back trail that’s easy to follow.

The trails are wide and groomed enough for a stroller, walker, or even wheelchair. The trail is flat and easy to navigate.

Bring your binoculars for some fabulous bird watching, and a picnic lunch to enjoy after your walk.

You can come visit daily from 9:00 a.m. through 7:00 p.m. There are no entrance fees, and the public is encouraged to come and visit and explore the area.

You’ll be hard-pressed to find a prettier spot to while away a couple of hours! And bring the whole family to enjoy this area; guaranteed they’ll love every minute of it.
