In the warmer months, this loop trail crosses through fields, green trees, and wildflowers. At an easy 2.2 miles, this loop is the perfect opportunity for a quick morning or midday escape to nature.
In colder months, there is often snow on the ground. But, don't worry! The hiking trail remains open year round allowing for a winter adventure. The loop is a great opportunity to get outside for a short walk after snowstorms!
This loop is also a great chance to see some wildlife! Deer are plentiful here and don't seem shy at all! Be sure to keep your camera ready and stay on the lookout for fawns.
In addition to deer, snakes can be found in the area. Frightening to some, but thrilling for others, be sure to pay attention to your surroundings so you can spot any nearby snakes.
The algae bloom on the water a creates a unique bright green on the waters surface. The waterway that runs through the park is a branch off of the Missouri River, which flows nearby.
The trail will also take you by TreeRush Adventures. Open in the Spring and Summer, this course has zip-lines, suspended bridges, rope ladders, and much more! If you're lucky, maybe you'll catch a glimpse of some kids enjoying the obstacle course from the trail.
