As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
Forget everything you thought you knew about camping at Nebraska State Parks. Now, instead of dragging a tent along with you or renting a cabin, you can just reserve one of the fully equipped safari tents that are already set up and waiting for you. They’ve got furniture, heaters, fire pits, and even seating that gives you the perfect place to stargaze all night.
Tentrr and Nebraska State Parks launched a partnership in August 2022 that brought more than 25 fully-equipped glamping sites to three of our state parks.
If you've never been glamping, you're in for a pleasant surprise. Short for "glamorous camping," glamping is basically camping for people who don't like camping. The sites include many of the comforts of home and are about as far away from "roughing it" as you can get while still sleeping in a tent.
The canvas tents are elevated on wooden platforms to do away with the bugs and uneven ground that often make tent camping so difficult to love. They're furnished and even have a real bed with a memory foam mattress - hello, comfort!
You can book a glamping tent at Sherman Reservoir, Ponca State Park, or Louisville State Recreation Area. Sherman has 10 single sites, Ponca has eight single camps and two double camps, and Louisville offers seven sites.
If your entire party doesn't fit into one tent, you can make use of the additional pop-up tent that's included in the rental fee. Pets are also welcome at most sites, so feel free to bring your fur kids as well as your human kids!
We can't think of a better way to spend a weekend than getting together with friends or family for a fun getaway in nature. Well...close to nature, anyway.
The Tentrr sites are all secluded and private, so you can enjoy your peace if you don't want to join in the activities in the rest of the parks. We do highly recommend taking advantage of the activities at these three parks, though - they're some of our most beautiful, fun-filled destinations.
If you weren't convinced yet, just take a look at that sunrise. Imagine emerging from your tent in the morning to a spectacular view like this one. It seems like the perfect way to kick off a brand new day.
The best part is that everything is all set up for you so you can spend your time away from home actually relaxing rather than stressing over where that last tent stake is hiding. Reserve your stay at one of the Nebraska State Parks Tentrr sites and get ready for the most relaxing camping experience ever.
If you’re visiting the glamping site at Sherman Reservoir, why not take a little side trip? About a half-hour’s drive away is the little town of St. Paul, and it’s truly one of Nebraska’s hidden gem towns.
