If you’re looking for a homestyle meal that will fill you up body and soul, take a trip to the little town of Palmyra, Nebraska. That’s where you’ll find Copper Moon Steakhouse, a restaurant specializing in filling meals served slowly – and we mean that in the best way possible.
The short red building is located right across the street from the post office - you can't miss it as you're driving through town.
Whether you're a local or a visitor, you'll be warmly welcomed at this down-home establishment. Grab a chair and have a look at the menu - there's sure to be something that makes your mouth water.
How about starting off with an appetizer? Better yet, how about starting out with lots of appetizers? The fried sampler basket lets you choose four of your favorite fried offerings from the long list of available choices: home fries, waffle fries, sweet potato fries, chicken strips, onion straws, mushrooms, cauliflower, cheese curds, and pickles. It comes with three dipping sauces, giving you tons of possible flavor combinations.
Come hungry, but don't expect to be fed in a hurry. Everything on the menu is handmade from scratch, meaning that it'll take a while to get to you - but the wait is worth it.
The concept behind the restaurant is a simple one: it's a small-town dining destination that serves up the kind of fresh, homestyle food you'd serve in your own kitchen...if it wasn't your night off from cooking, that is.
Be sure to stop in on several different days to enjoy the daily rotating specials. One of the most popular offerings is the prime rib, which is only available on Saturday evenings. You can taste every bit of care that goes into this slow-cooked work of edible art.
Once you've had your fill of dinner, you'll want to stick around for another Copper Moon specialty: tableside s'mores. This delicious little bit of nostalgia is sure to bring a smile to everyone's faces.
