The small Sandhills town of Burwell is the home of Nebraska’s Big Rodeo, but that’s not all there is to see and do there. It’s much more vibrant than you might expect from such a little town, and it’s a wonderful place to spend a bit of quiet time away from home. When you’re there, a romantic getaway at the Fifth Avenue Cottage is an experience you do not want to miss.
The Tudor-style home was built in 1927, and nearly a century later, it's been restored to its original grandeur.
It's located just a few minutes' walk from downtown Burwell with all of its shopping, dining, and entertainment opportunities. Calamus Lake is just a 10-minute drive away.
The Fifth Avenue Cottage is one of the oldest and most recognizable homes in Burwell.
There are five bedrooms: two with one queen bed each, one with two sets of bunk beds, and the bedroom suite with two more queen bedrooms separated by a shared bathroom.
There's nothing cozier on a chilly day than sinking into a soft seat with a cup of tea, enjoying great conversation, and watching the mesmerizing flames.
There's a lovely outdoor seating area with vintage-style patio furniture, a picnic table, and a grill.
A fire pit makes this outdoor area feel cozy and warm, even on cold winter evenings. Just put on your mittens and stocking cap and enjoy the beautiful Sandhills sky.
Learn more about the home’s history, see photos, and book a stay at the Fifth Avenue Cottage on its website. Be sure to pack your coziest hoodie or wearable blanket for maximum winter snuggles
