While it’s always nice to keep one of our fantastic museums in mind for a cold and rainy day, there’s nothing quite like stretching your legs and getting outdoors to get an up-close look at a part of the past. If you’re ready to enjoy some fresh air and an intriguing hiking trail that will leave you in awe, then there’s no better place to plan a trip to than this one national monument. See for yourself!
Taking you out to both a beautiful and truly fascinating area of Nebraska, our Scotts Bluff National Monument is a scenic area of our state that you simply cannot miss out on exploring.
Inside the more than 3,000-acres that make up this national monument, you'll find several hiking trails that will all lead you to beautiful pieces of history.
However, there's one trail inparticular here at Scotts Bluff that you'll want to be sure you cross off of your Nebraska bucket list and that's the Saddle Rock Trail!
Grab a pair of your favorite sturdy shoes and begin your hike along the Saddle Rock Trail, where over 435-feet of elevation you'll hike along paved trailways, pass through a pedestrian tunnel made of stone...
...hike through incredible pieces of our state's history that will leave you in awe, and of course, make your way through our bluffs. How amazing of an adventure does this sound?
Taking you back to a much different time, the hike starts at the park's Visitor Center and leads you up to sweeping views of the Scotts Bluff National Monument - made up of two separate bluffs and five major outcroppings that will blow you away.
