Harvest time is always a special time in Nebraska. The colors become more varied, the temperatures start to cool, and the fields are ready for harvest. For most of us, even if we don’t live directly among farmland, the sight of a harvest will always be what Nebraska is all about.
The video below is a wonderful way to experience the harvest if you don't have the opportunity to see it in person. It's the 2016 corn harvest of a farm near Aurora as seen from high above the fields.
We all know that this happens each fall, but actually getting to see it from this angle can give us non-farmers a whole new appreciation for just how smoothly the process goes.
There are a whole lot of moving parts - both literally and figuratively - that go into a successful harvest. All of the machines sync up to do their jobs and transport the corn to where it needs to be.
It kind of makes your heart soar to see this beautifully coordinated effort coming together - and when that last remaining row of corn is harvested? Such a satisfying sight.
