7 Winter Festivals In Montana That Are Simply Unforgettable

Every year, the Powell County Museum & Arts Foundation sponsors this annual Christmas celebration, which is on December 2nd this year at the Pen Convention Center. The event includes a visit from Santa, Christmas carolers, a crafter’s market and tree lighting.

Starting on December 2nd, ZooMontana hosts the annual ZooLights festival. Cars and buses can drive through a section of the zoo from 6-9 PM and check out all the lights while listening to festive music.

Since 2007, the Missoula MADE Fair has been a much anticipated event during the holiday season. This year’s date is December 11th from 11-6. With over 150 local and regional artists setting up shop, it’s a great time to find the perfect gifts.

This year’s winter carnival, which will be held from February 3-5, is a tradition that is now 58 years old. The mostly free, family-friendly festival is an old-fashioned celebration of the beautiful season of winter. Trust us when we say that there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Lewistown’s Montana Winter Fair is a celebration of agriculture, livestock, and our Western way of life. The next one, which is January 27-29, will be the 72nd fair.

On December 17th, the two-day Rodeo Run Sled Dog Races event takes place in West Yellowstone. If you go, get there a couple of days early so you can enjoy the West Yellowstone Christmas Stroll and the town tree lighting.
