There’s even an island where you just might see wild horses (and you’ll almost certainly see wildlife). And if you’ve never been to Wild Horse Island State Park, perhaps it’s time to pay it a visit.

Wild Horse Island State Park is located on Flathead Lake, the largest lake in the state.

Hikers love Wild Horse Island because the trails are so scenic.

There aren't may wild horses left on the island, but it's fairly small, so you just might spot them.

Obviously, it's best to watch them from a distance.

Rare and endangered plant species have also been found on the island.

The park is available for day-use only, and you'll have to have a boat to reach it.
