The Woodbine Falls Trail is an easy 1.5 mile hike out and back located near Nye in Southcentral Montana. The hiking trail is open from May through October, and of course, it features a beautiful waterfall.

The best part about this area is that you can camp near the falls at the Woodbine Campground, which is adjacent to the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness. The campground sits on the banks of the Stillwater River and offers a wooded, shady respite from the world.

The Stillwater River and nearby streams and lakes offer great fishing opportunities for campers. And if catching some rainbow or cutthroat trout isn’t your idea of a good time, you can try to catch a glimpse of some of the wildlife that lives there. Deer, elk, bear and lots of different birds call the area home.

Woodbine Falls Trail starts in the northeast corner of the campground. From the trailhead you’ll climb uphill gradually, but you’ll end up climbing 564 feet in elevation. The waterfall is a magnificent display of cascades and vertical falls, and the views from the overlook are incredible.

The campground offers single and group sites, some of which have picnic tables and campfire rings with grills. There are also vault toilets and campers will have access to drinking water.

The Woodbine Falls area offers the perfect getaway: A relaxing campground with just enough amenities to keep you comfortable, beautiful natural surroundings and a sublime waterfall. It doesn’t get better.
