This one-of-a-kind museum is dedicated to the preservation of one of the largest collections of American history. You'll find thousands of artifacts here ranging from fascinating to a little outlandish. The nearby Polson-Flathead Historical Museum is also wonderful.
The restaurants in Polson, while limited, are quite good. Cherries BBQ Pit is a favorite for fast-casual food.

Richwine's Burgerville is the iconic local burger stand, although it closes for the winter.
If you love Montana's wildlife, you'll appreciate having the National Bison Range nearby.

This region consists of 19,000 acres of natural grassland that is home to about 500 American bison as well as birds, mule deer, and bighorn sheep.
And, of course, being on the shores of Montana's largest lake is always amazing.
