Mead, an alcoholic drink made from fermented honey and water, is one of the oldest beverages on the planet… but it’s one of the newest beverages to come to Bozeman. In the fall of 2018, Valhalla Meadery quietly opened its doors, bringing a subtly Viking-themed spot to town. Valhalla is definitely a great place to sip some mead, but it’s also the perfect meeting spot for playing games and eating Scandinavian food.

Valhalla Meadery was founded by Dylan Watson and Hal Pederson, who worked diligently to bring mead to Bozeman.

Montana is one of the top producers of honey, so creating their mead here isn't hard.

In fact, just before they opened, they purchased a literal ton of Montana honey.
At Valhalla Meadery, the team specializes in creating a wide variety of traditional sweet and dry meads.

They'll also get creative, concocting meads infused with teas, hops, or berries. But they always stay true to the methods that are over 1,000 years old.
