The beauty of Montana is unmatched by any state in the country. With mountains, lakes, rivers, and forests, there’s someplace incredible to visit no matter where you are. Each option is beautiful, but choosing a favorite is hard. That’s why we love the more unique spots. These are the areas that many visitors don’t even know exist. This rainforest in Montana is a great example!
To find this unique rainforest in Montana, head to Kootenai National Forest of Montana. The Yaak River winds through the forest and the rainforest is found within the Yaak Valley.
Best of all, about 97 percent of the valley is protected as public land, which means development won't ever happen. Keeping the area pristine is a huge priority.
In addition to the beauty of the Yaak Valley, there are tons of wildlife to be found here. Keep an eye out for things like grizzly bears, black bears, wolves, and owls.
The Yaak Valley is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful places in the state. Have you visited? If you’ve enjoyed it, we’d love to hear your tips and tricks to make a visit the best it can be.
