Planning a trip to a place like Glacier takes a lot of time, which we don’t always have. Luckily, there are plenty of low-key spots you can visit when you have a free day. These are a few of our favorites.
Bridger Canyon is mere minutes away from Bozeman, but it feels like a separate world. A beloved spot for outdoor lovers and wildlife enthusiasts, it's a perfectly peaceful place to enjoy an afternoon.

Did you know the world's largest freshwater spring and the world's shortest river are located here? Giant Springs State Park in Great Falls was discovered by the Lewis & Clark Expedition in 1805, and when you see it, you'll be just as impressed as they were.

If you've never taken the Gates of the Mountain tour through this stunning canyon, take a little road trip and experience it for yourself. Tours run from May through September, so you won't be able to be spontaneous with this idea as some of the others. However, it's well worth a try.
