Montana is called Big Sky Country for a reason — our state is full of sweeping views. And if you’re up for a bit of a challenge and some sore leg muscles, you can take in one of the best views in the Treasure State this summer. The Tranquil Basin Overlook is well worth the adventure.
To reach the trailhead, just locate the Bear Creek River Access on Highway 2, about 45 miles east of West Glacier.
You'll climb uphill for several miles. And although some parts are steeper than others, there's no flat surface until you reach the top.
