As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
From glaciers to mountains to wide-open spaces of trees, verdant lands, and deep valleys, Montana has a lot to offer within its over 145,000 square miles. And that includes the northern (and original) entrance to Yellowstone National Park, the nation’s first national park, complete with the Roosevelt Arch to welcome you.
Nothing makes a national park trip easier and more convenient than staying close to the park, and nothing makes it more memorable than staying in a unique accommodation. Welcome to Dreamcatcher Tipi Hotel, located just six miles from the Yellowstone National Park north entrance.
Each tipi is 22 feet and fully furnished. You’ll get free Wi-Fi, complimentary tea and coffee, and even some "grab n’ go" breakfast treats every morning. There is also a gift shop on site. And of course, spectacular views of Montana’s Big Sky Country are always included.
Each tipi is specially decorated and can accommodate up to four people with a king or a double with 12-inch memory foam mattresses. There are also electric heaters, fans, lighting, rugs, and outlets to keep all your gadgets charged up.
Each is well-stocked with high-end bath products as well as comfortable towels. If you have to use the facilities in the middle of the night, grab the mini LED lantern provided.
Due to the proximity to the Yellowstone River, the national forest, and Yellowstone National Park, don’t be surprised to find some (or a lot of) wildlife hanging around.
Complimentary adult beverages will be served as well as s’mores. Relax with fellow nature lovers under the dark and starry skies and swap tales about your adventures.
From Dreamcatcher Tipi Hotel, you are only about five miles from the northern entrance to the over two million-acre Yellowstone National Park in Gardiner. You’ll have easy access to its geysers and hot springs as well as its rivers, lakes, and waterfalls.
And don’t forget its assortment of wildlife, which includes elk, wild bison, moose, bighorn sheep, grizzly and black bears, coyotes, foxes, and much more.
If you think you’re close to Yellowstone National Park, check out Yellowstone Hot Springs, located just three miles away. Here, you can soak to your heart’s content in the hot pool (103–105 degrees), the main pool (98–100 degrees), or the cold plunge (60–65 degrees).
And that is certainly not all. From fly-fishing or whitewater rafting in the river to exploring Gardiner’s restaurants, galleries, and shops, to heading into either the Custer Gallatin National Forest or the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness, you’ll never run out of things to do and see.
Staying in a tipi is a surefire way to make your trip to southern Montana more unique than just staying in a chain hotel. You’ll get the “feel” of camping out minus a great deal of its ruggedness. For more information on this experience, check out their website.
