There’s An Emerald Waterfall Hiding In Montana That’s Too Beautiful For Words
Glacier National Park is not only Montana’s greatest treasure, but it’s also known as the Crown Jewel of the Continent. Inside the million-acre park, you’ll find turquoise lakes, tough mountain terrain, and an abundance of wildlife. You’ll also see some seriously stunning waterfalls, including Saint Mary Falls, which is hiding in plain sight at the end of a short nature walk.

The 2.4-mile trail is located near East Glacier Village, about 10 miles west of the St. Mary Entrance Station on the Going-To-The-Sun Road. Just follow signs for the St. Mary Falls Trailhead.

This is the first of two waterfalls you'll see on your hike, although many Montanans choose to stop here and relax, taking it all in.

Keep an eye out for American dippers, stocky dark grey birds who dive these waters in search of food. If you're lucky, you might spot some other wildlife as well.
