As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
While living in the Last Best Place is more laid back than most places in the country, it certainly isn’t without its stressful moments. It’s nice to be able to take a couple of days to relax and recharge, preferably off the grid. This one-of-a-kind magnificent sustainable home in Gallatin Gateway offers a unique experience — everything is solar-powered, but you’ll still enjoy all the comforts of home (and then some).
The Earthship Sustainable Home is located just outside of Big Sky, set on 20 gorgeous acres.
The sun heats the concrete floor and radiates that heat all day long. Believe it or not, this place never drops below 60 degrees, no matter what the temperature is outside.

Despite being "off the grid," you'll have all the comforts of home here -- WiFi, a Smart TV, and a kitchen with a refrigerator, stove, and other appliances.
Just make sure you use things like hairdryers and toasters during the day and turn off the lights whenever you leave a room because this place runs solely on solar.
