To the outside world, certain habits we have here in Montana might not make sense. We wouldn’t know, and more importantly, we don’t care… to us, it’s all just a part of life in the Treasure State. If you call us on these tendencies, we’ll defend them to the death.
Winters are long in Montana, so we get acclimated quickly. So sometimes a 60 degree day feels like an 80 degree day to us, and we get excited and reach for the short sleeves. We can't help it.
It's a polite thing that many of us were raised to do, and we love being able to brighten people's days.

Helping others is just part of who we are.

We live in Big Sky Country because we like our space. Even our larger cities are fairly small compared to other states' urban areas. Some people might think we're crazy for our choosing the quiet life of the country, but we wouldn't want it any other way.
We'll be the first to admit the Testicle Festival is a little odd. But normal can be boring... and besides, Montana isn't the only state that has them.

This isn't actually all that strange. But it is a quick way to tell if someone is a native Montanan. If you offer them an elk steak for dinner and they seem surprised or taken aback, they most likely are not.

We know winters are a bit too long and summers are a lot too short in Montana. But just because we're aware of it doesn't mean we won't complain about it to each other whenever we get a chance.
We make a lot of jokes about Montana being full. Like we said, we like our space, and we'd rather keep things the way they are. It's (usually) nothing personal.
