Hell Creek State Park, 2456 Hell Creek Rd, Jordan, MT 59337, USA
Hell Creek State Park is easily identifiable for its landscape of the Missouri Breaks. It's mainly known for its fishing opportunities since it spans 337 acres on the south side of Fort Peck Lake. But it's also fun to go and simply explore the rugged landscape.

Makoshika State Park, Glendive, MT 59330, USA
We couldn't love Makoshika State Park more if we tried. This geographic wonder is a hot spot for finding dinosaur fossils and other pieces of our prehistoric past, and the badlands here are like nothing else you'll see in any other part of Montana. In spite of this, the park stays uncrowded, mainly because of its remote location. But it's a must-see for all Montanans.

Medicine Rocks State Park, 1141 MT-7, Ekalaka, MT 59324, USA
Next, head down to Medicine Rocks State Park, which is located about 11 miles from Ekalaka. As the name implies, Medicine Rocks was a place of 'big medicine' where Indigenous hunting parties conjured up magical spirits. The soft sandstone rock formations look even better in person.
