Sometimes you just need a good old-fashioned home-cooked meal… cooked by someone else. Luckily, Montana has plenty of family restaurants that serve meals you’ll never forget. These are a few of the best.

5. Lydia's Supper Club, 4915 Harrison Ave., Butte
Lydia Micheletti opened her supper club in 1946, combining her experiences from working in Meaderville's world-famous supper clubs with the Italian recipes that she had learned from her mother, who was an Italian immigrant. 6. Last Chair Kitchen & Bar, 1705 Wisconsin Ave., Whitefish
Last Chair Kitchen & Bar is owned by Tim and Ali Good, and they've been serving the Whitefish community their delicious food for over 25 years. The food here is both delightful and unpretentious.

8. Faye's Cafe, 415 E. Lewis St., Livingston
Chef Sarah Faye owns and operates this charming eatery, doing everything on her own terms -- and if the food is any indication, those terms are delightful. She's even the author of a cookbook, "Yumtwist: The Art of Spontaneity in the Kitchen."
9. The Kitchen, 102 S 2nd St., Hamilton
Home-style cooking, generous portions, service with a smile... there's a lot to love about this family-owned eatery, and it's no wonder that it's a local favorite.
Montana has plenty of upscale eateries and chain restaurants to choose from, but we’re most proud of our small mom and pop spots .
