Eighty million years ago, the area that is now Billings was nestled along a major seaway. Over time, sediment and sand deposited around the shore. As the sea rose and fell, the water left behind layers of sand. Fast forward millions of years and you have the shimmering sandstone formations we see today.
Several parks sit on top of Billings' Rimrocks, so there are many ways to enjoy their beauty.
