As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
Looking for a more unique experience than a standard hotel stay? Montana has plenty of those — you can even sleep in a covered wagon on a farm. But when it comes to creative accommodations, we’re pretty smitten with this authentic converted caboose we found in Noxon. Not only is it surrounded by natural beauty, it has everything you need for a great time.
The Kelly Caboose is a renovated 1974 Burlington Northern Caboose that has been updated with everything you need for a good stay.
The caboose sits on a little piece of property in Noxon, bordering Highway 200.
Although the caboose itself is cozy (and the property is shared with two other Airbnb units which are far enough away not to notice), the area is spacious, with plenty of room to enjoy the great outdoors.
There is no full bathroom (as a caboose wouldn't have one), but there is a toilet with a privacy curtain. There is a flatscreen TV mounted on the wall, but there is no WiFi here.
While the caboose itself is humble, you'll love the outside area known as the Slack Shack.
