If you live in one of Montana’s many tiny towns, you’re already aware of how challenging it can be to get supplies without making a lengthy drive. That’s why we have so many charming co-ops and general stores, like Cooke City General Store. So we weren’t surprised to hear that the people of Neihart (all 37 of them) formed a co-op to conserve the only store on Highway 89 Scenic Byway between Belt and White Sulphur Springs. If you’re ever in the area, stop by the Neihart Inconvenience Store.
You'll find the Neihart Inconvenience Store at 209 Main Street, also known as Highway 89.
Each year, the people of Neihart and the surrounding areas come together for quite a few community events. There's even an annual picnic, raffle, and silent auction each September to make sure the place is able to stay open and well cared for.
The Neihart Inconvenience Store is open daily at 7 a.m.
Closing hours vary between 6 p.m. (weekdays) and 8 p.m. (Saturdays) and they close at 4 p.m. on Sundays.
