The Grand Union Hotel was constructed in 1882, and it has been beautifully preserved. In fact, you'll find one of the best restaurants in town here.
For a true testament to the town's values, check out the monument dedicated to Old Shep.

Shep was a dog who followed his owner to the hospital in town. Unfortunately, his owner didn't make it, and his family had his body shipped home. But poor Shep waited faithfully for his human until the day he died, and he's now immortalized in Fort Benton.
There's really never a bad time to visit this amazing city.

It's especially stunning in the summer and fall, but if you catch it during a mild part of winter, it's just as breathtaking.
