There are plenty of underrated places that we love visiting in Montana, but between social media and word of mouth it’s almost impossible to keep our favorite hidden gems under wraps nowadays. Over the recent years one of our favorite destinations has began to see more and more visitors. So if you want to enjoy it before the wave of crowds come… now is the time to do so. Montana's largest state park, Makoshika covers over 11,000 acres of our state and word is getting out about how marvelous it is.
Attracting curious onlookers each year, visitors come to to Makoshika State Park to explore all of the unique treasures and rock formations that are hidden inside here.
For those who are interested in seeing all that the park has to offer, they can take advantage of the over 20 camping sites that are in Makoshika as well!
Visiting this park will truly make you feel as though you're on another planet. Unique rock formations have been created within the park via Mother Nature and have even earned quirky nicknames like Moby Dick and the Goblins.
